Scope of Exhibition


1¡¢World Heritage Exhibit: Display 754 sites of World Heritage all over the world, including 582 cultural heritage sites, 149 natural heritage sites, and 23 cultural and natural heritage sites. (the actual number is 725 sites after excluding the 29 sites in China)

1£© China's World Heritage Exhibit: Display the 29 sites of World Heritage in China, including 21 cultural heritage sites, four natural heritage sites, and four cultural and natural heritage sites.

2£©Some of the sites inscribed on the China's preparation list for World Heritage: Royal City, Royal Mausoleum, and Graveyard of Aristocrats of Ancient Korea, One Palace with Three Mausoleums, Histotical Architecture Complex in Macao, The Yinxu Site, The Old Residence of Kejia Nationality, Hani Terrace, Kaiping Military Watchtower£¨recommended by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage£©, Reservation Park for Giant Panda, China Karst, Mount Qinling, Hanisi of Sinkiang (recommended by the Ministry of Construction£©£»

3¡¢Exhibit of the Protection Achievements of China's World Heritage (the Ministry of Construction and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage shall be responsible for the parts of the display of the protection achievements of China's world heritage in their respective working scopes);

4¡¢ The Review Exhibit of the 1st to 27th Sessions of World Heritage Committee

Form of Exhibition:

The forms of this exhibition are mainly pictures and texts with some microform models. High-tech demonstration methods shall be employed with multimedia and video technology to breathe life and vitality to the exhibition and make it more attractive. (Suzhou side shall invite professional companies to make three to four exhibition design schemes for the organizing committee to choose and make the final decision)

Requirements of the Contents in the Exhibition

1¡¢ China's World Heritage Exhibit: Every site of world heritage in China shall submit an introduction of the site both in Chinese and English with the length of 500-600 Chinese characters or English words (please refer to the requirements in the application document); provide five to eight pictures of the typical scenes of the world heritage site with brief introduction of every picture of no more than 100 Chinese characters (number of Chinese characters as the standard). Every site of world heritage must provide such information as the geographical location of the sites, the enlisted number of the site, the time inscribed on the World Heritage List, and the comment of UNESCO when approved.
In order to ensure than programs, such as the Ancient Korean City, will be successfully approved in the 28th World Heritage Conference, the proportion of the display on the Royal City of Ancient Korea, and One Palace and Three Mausoleums (The Shenyang Forbidden City, Yong Mausoleum, Fu Mausoleum, and Zhao Mausoleum) shall be emphasized so as to leave a deeper impression in the minds of the participants of the conference from all over the world.

2¡¢ World Heritage Exhibit: Every member country must submit the introductions of the world heritage site(s) in the country with the length of no more than 500-600 English words (please refer to the requirements in the application document), and three related pictures each with introduction of no more than 100-200 English words (number of English words as the standard). Every site of world heritage must provide such information as the geographical location of the sites, the enlisted number of the site, the time inscribed on the World Heritage List, and the comment of UNESCO when approved. The exhibition effect of showing the authoritativeness, scientific connotation, knowledge-spreading and recreational purposes of the content of the exhibition shall be achieved by these introductions.

3¡¢ Requirements of Languages: Both in Chinese and English

Division of Exhibition Area

1¡¢ The exhibition area shall be divided into three parts as follow:

¢Ù Hall on the Second Floor Exhibition Area: 500 square meters
China National Committee of UNESCO, the Ministry of Construction, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage shall be responsible for the contents of the exhibition
¢Ú East Part on the Second Floor Exhibition Area: 500 square meters
World Heritage Exhibit
¢Û West Part on the Second Floor Exhibition Area: 500 square meters
